Samba-Jazz
These are a series of “play-along” recordings that emphasize the harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic vocabluary of the samba-jazz of the 1960’s with original compositions based on the styles of Moacir Santos, Don Salvador, Victor Assis Brasil, J.T. Meirelles and the Milton Banana Trio, among others. Divided into three volumes, the book provides parts for all the instruments and offers specific guidelines for voicings, phrasing, articulation, drum grooves, and bass lines.Vol.I - For harmonic instruments – the parts are written in “C,” in treble clef, in bass clef and, for transposing instruments, in Bb and Eb. The “play-along” has a complete rhythm section with piano, bass, and drums.
Vol.II - For melodic instruments – the “play-along” has a melodic instrument, bass and drums.
Vol.III - For bass and drums – the “play-along” has a melodic instrument and a harmonic instrument (piano or guitar). Each track is minus its respective drums or bass.
